My name is Jef Blocker. I’m a native Texan living in Atlanta, GA, where I work as a UX writer and life coach. I’m grateful to love what I do for a living. In my spare time, I enjoy hiking, making meaningful connections with others, watching movies, listening to music, reading, and traveling.

I love helping those who believe they are unimaginative come out as creative through one-on-one coaching and facilitating creativity groups and workshops for over twenty years.

Synchronicity has been pivotal in my life. I have been fortunate to have met many people at just the right time to help me figure out which fork in the road to take. When I have an opportunity to serve as a mentor by active listening and asking questions to help someone figure out what to do next, I like to give back by paying it forward. Inspiring others not only helps others, it helps me to continue to push forward on my own journey.

I write humor and speculative fiction that focuses on characters trying to find happiness and meaningful connections with others usually with a supernatural or surreal twist. I’ve studied with Joshilyn Jackson, Orson Scott Card, Alex Sanchez, and David Fulmer.

In September of 2002, I decided to quit talking about writing one day and actually start writing. Many days I wanted to quit, but I told myself I could quit after I wrote my three pages. Those pages added up. At last count, I’ve written twelve full-length screenplays, fifteen manuscripts, multiple essays, numerous humor pieces, many short stories, and even a poem about Mr. Potatohead’s love slave. I’m in the process of querying agents and submitting my work for publication.
